The Edward Waters College Band is committed to maintaining a tradition of excellence. As members of this organization, we take on the responsibility of continuing our legacy through commitment, determination, and hard work. The Band program is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for its students in the performing arts. All educational activities will take place in an environment that promotes social and inventive development of the students through creative programs.

EWC Band, Edward Waters University

The Edward Waters College Band is a renowned program and has been persistently in high demand. The band has performed throughout the state of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.  Each year the band performs at numerous high schools and battle of the bands throughout the Eastern Coast. The Triple Threat Marching Band has performed at the Honda Battle of The Bands in 2009 & 2013. The Triple Threat Marching Bands has also made appearances at NFL games, performing for halftime.

As the major ambassadors of Edward Waters College, the band will continue to entertain and perform at the level of perfection. Our mission is to strive for excellence, while being ambassadors of our institution, in the epitome of tiger pride, on and off the field!! Our name, The Sight, The Sound, and The Fury speaks for itself! We perform at a level to give the ultimate demonstration of a picture perfect performance, using our God given talent to produce supreme musicality, and to ALWAYS perform with extreme energy and pride! Under the Direction of Mr. Kedrick Redding, the band will continue to shine in all aspect of the program. Teaching students to become pillars in their societies; building musical students, and to develop an appreciation and a deeply rooted love for music while continuing the legacy of musicality and perfection!

There are several ensembles within the band program:

Brass Ensemble/ Woodwind Ensemble/ Percussion

These smaller ensembles are an extension of the wind ensemble. The ensemble are open to any band students who have a love for performing various works. . It also, consists of modern band instrumentation and provides instruction in advanced instrumental skills such as instrumental technique, small ensemble performance, solo performance as well as an emphasis on fundamental concepts of rhythm, tone production, ensemble balance and blend, and overall ensemble sonority. This ensemble performs a wide range of classical music.

Jazz Band/Jazz Combo

Jazz band will consist of the students who have shown strong dedication and achievement in Concert Band, Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble. This ensemble is open to saxophones, trumpets, trombones, pianists, bass players, and percussionists (with expectations to play drum set and auxiliary percussion equipment). The goal of the Jazz Band is to continue to introduce students to jazz and jazz history through the performance of various styles of jazz. 

The Jazz Combo is a jazz group of 6 students that performs the smooth jazz and will perform for banquet events, jazz festivals, and various requested events.

Wind Ensemble/ Symphonic Band

The newly formed Wind Ensemble is open to students who have at least one year of previous instruction in wind and/or percussion instruments. It consists of modern band instrumentation and provides instruction in advanced instrumental skills such as instrumental technique, small ensemble performance, solo performance as well as an emphasis on fundamental concepts of rhythm, tone production, ensemble balance and blend, and overall ensemble sonority. This ensemble performs a wide range of classical music.
