Click here to apply. If your future Tiger is a graduating senior they must submit their high school transcript to the admissions office. If your future Tiger is a transfer student they must submit their official college or university transcripts from all institutions they have previously attended. Once you Tiger is admitted they will receive their username and password to log into their self-service portal. Visit portal.ew.edu
The FAFSA opens each year in October. Click here to complete the FAFSA. The financial aid year is fall through summer. You must complete a new FAFSA each academic year. It is important that you and your future Tiger complete this application and electronically sign it. Click here to learn more about the FAFSA form and how to complete it.
To get started:
Create an FSA ID
Tiger student: An FSA ID is their account username and password. They need it to sign the FAFSA form online. If they don’t have an FSA ID. Click here to create a FSA ID. It takes about 10 minutes to create an FSA ID.
Parent: You as the parent, need to create your own FSA ID to sign your Tiger’s FAFSA form online. Click here to create a FSA ID. As a parent, you will be able to use your FSA ID right away.
Once your Tiger has completed their FAFSA it takes approximately 3-5 business days for the University to receive it. Once it is received it will be reviewed by the Office of Financial Aid and if no further documentation is needed a financial aid award will be offered to your Tiger. Your Tiger can view and accept their financial aid award in their self-service portal at portal.ew.edu In addition, if they have been selected for verification the documentation that is required will be listed here as well. Located inside the Office of the Registrar the Veterans Services Center’s mission is to assists military members, veterans, and dependent students take advantage of the numerous education opportunities by connecting them to their VA Education Benefits and any support services necessary for their academic, professional and personal success while here at Edward Waters.
The enrollment fee confirms they intend to enroll at EWU, it is $150.00. If your Tiger is interested in living on campus the housing reservation fee is $100.00. Click here to make these payments.
Once this fee is paid your Tiger will receive their housing application. Placement in housing is based on a first-come, first-serve basis in alignment with your Tiger’s date of fee payment. Please note, that this non-refundable payment, does not guarantee housing. Click here to learn more about Residence Life and Housing. Click here to learn more about on campus dining and meal plan options. Your Tiger can also discuss a meal plan option with the Office Student Accounts during the clearance process.
All new and returning Tigers must get financial clearance through the Office of Student Accounts before they can register for their classes. All balances $2,500 and under can be set-up on a payment plan. All balances over $2,500 require a down payment to get to the $2,500 remaining balance. The remaining $2,500 can be made in 4 equal payments over the semester. Click make a payment in your Tigers EWU self-service portal at portal.ew.edu to set-up the payment plan. If your Tiger needs additional funds you as the parent have the opportunity to apply for a Parent PLUS loan to cover the remaining cost of your Tiger’s education. Click here to apply.
All new students will meet with an academic advisor in the University College division of EWU. They will discuss their intended academic program and assist them with selecting their classes from their degree plan. At this time the University is transitioning to a new student information system. For this semester your Tiger’s academic advisor will register them for their classes, however in future semesters your Tiger will have the ability to register themselves. The residence halls are double occupancy. Single occupancy rooms are granted to students that have disabilities or health accommodations approved through the Office of Counseling and Disability Services.
Yes, all new and transfer students are required to attend new student orientation to get acclimated to Edward Waters University before the start of classes.
Yes, first year students may bring their car to campus. Parking is limited. Cars must be registered with the Department of Campus Safety and Security.
