Jacksonville, Florida – Head Coach Dr. Brandon Reeves of the new Edward Waters Men’s Volleyball program has announced the historic signing of the program’s first recruit, Kaelen Ingram from Belize City, Belize.

“Kaelen will be a leader for our team in our inaugural season in 2022.” said Dr. Reeves. “We are excited to land a player of this caliber and talent. I watched this kid play on the Belize National Team and he was unstoppable. We are excited to work with him and see him in EWC Men’s Volleyball uniform next season.”

Standing 6’6″ tall, Ingram played at Edward P. Yorke High School, where he was a team captain and received “Best Attacker” honors during his final season in 2019.

Ingram also represented his country at the Asociacion De Federaciones CentroAmericanas De Voleibol (AFCAVOL) Sub 21 & Sub 19 Central American Volleyball Championships in 2019. During the Sub 19 Tournament, Ingram was selected as the tournament’s Best Scorer & Best Opposite.

When asked why he chose EWC to further his volleyball and academic career, Ingram replied, “I always like to apart of black success. I realize in today’s day and time that we are sometimes overlooked and I just want to make a difference and be heard.” Ingram further added, “I’m excited to be a part of this new program and I look forward to representing both my country and EWC at the highest levels.”
