Dr. Gloria Pinkney, former Miss EWC, is a 1974 graduate of Edward Waters College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She received a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Supervision & Administration from Florida A&M University and later earned a Doctoral Degree from St. Thomas Christian College.

Dr. Pinkney is the co-pastor and co-founder of Joshua Christian Faith Center and Joshua Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida where she currently serves full-time in the ministry. Prior to joining the ministry full-time, Dr. Pinkney taught in the Duval County School System for 19 years. During her tenure, she was nominated Teacher of the Year, Who’s Who among America’s Outstanding Teachers, and Who’s Who among Outstanding Women.

Because of my training at EWC, I taught in the Duval County Public School System for 19 years receiving 19 perfect evaluations. Today my husband and I are proud founders of Joshua Christian Academy, presently educating over 350 students. I owe it to this great institution to support in every way.”

Dr. Pinkney is the loving wife of Dr. Frederic Pinkney and the proud mother of two loving daughters, Lisa and Shayla. She has one grandson, Frederic B. Pinkney, Jr.
