$4.4 Million Dollar Renovation of Edward Waters College’s Largest Student Residence Facility Remains On Schedule For Fall 2020

Jacksonville, FL (April, 24, 2020) Edward Waters College (EWC) is continuing its efforts to enhance its living and learning environment for students that reside in its on-campus residential facilities. In late 2019 the College broke ground on a full comprehensive renovation of its largest student residence facility amidst an exciting ceremony that included an appearance from city leadership, the college’s board of trustees, community leaders, and the institution’s President. Recently the College unveiled a 3-D rendering detailing new amenities and specifications related to the forthcoming Fall 2020 facility reopening.

The newly renovated Tiger Landing facility will include brand new furnishings throughout the entire facility, a computer lab, lounge and study areas, High-speed Internet/WiFi, and vending for additional food services. The new facility layout is apartment-style with each new unit outfitted with new appliances, a furnished common area, new bathroom furnishings, and full a kitchenette.

We are ecstatic the project has moved steadily forward since our groundbreaking earlier this past fall and we look forward with great anticipation to welcoming our new and returning students to this state of the art student residential facility on our campus this coming Fall,” says Dr. A. Zachary Faison, Jr., President, and CEO of Edward Waters College.

Mr. Mandrake Miller, Vice President for Student Success & Engagement stated, “living on campus is an integral part of a student’s complete educational experience. The newly renovated Tiger Landing Facility will increase the EWC student residential quality of life in a major way. This will also be beneficial from a recruiting standpoint by showcasing a first in class facility that can compete with other institutions. This is something our entire EWC community will be proud of.”

Spaces in this newest on-campus student residential facility are limited and available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Prospective first-year students must be admitted to the College and must pay the non-refundable $250.00 enrollment/housing fee to be considered. All EWC returning students must be financially cleared and registered as a full-time student for Fall 2020, and pay the $100.00 non-refundable housing reservation fee.
